Vox pop analysis

 We asked 9 people about thriller films they enjoyed and what their favourites are they included:

·         Fast and furious

·         Orphan

·         Shutter island

·         Sherlock Holmes

·         The dark knight (Bat Man)

·         Tron

Most of them enjoyed the thriller movies because they created enigmas and mystery; they liked interesting story lines that created a lot of questions. They also included things such as action and creepy children. When creating our thriller we should try to include things that our audience like in a thriller movie; things like making it very tense and mysterious, we may also use things like children or daemons as they were things that our audience like in thriller movies.

We asked them what sub-genres they liked and the response was:

·         Sic-fi

·         Action

·         Mystery

·         Crime

·         Techno

·         Horror

The sub-genre that came up as the most for being peoples favourite was crime, this tells us that when creating our opening title we should include crime or make it a crime thriller as that is what people find most appealing. We also asked people what thriller opening they remembered or their favourite ones were, they included:

·         Silent hill

·         Fast and furious

·         Dexter

·         Snatch

·         Sherlock Holmes

·         Dark knight

·         Seven

As these are our audience’s favourite thriller openings we should try to include elements all of them in our opening thriller as it will appeal to them. They said they enjoyed the thriller because of things such as a fast pace, lots of enigmas have been created, an unpredictable plot, well known character and lots of action. 

 

From our vox pops we learnt that we should create an opening thriller that creates a lot of enigmas and mystery as it is what our target audience enjoy. To get ideas for our opening we should look at the thrillers that they enjoyed so that our target audience will want to watch our thriller. We also learnt from the vox pops that people enjoy to watch sub-genres so should think about what sub-genre we want to create.
